Mary Ann Johnson of Starkville, MS, 87, made her transition to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Columbus, Mississippi.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 27, 1927 in Indianola, Mississippi.
She was a graduate of Rust College where she received her B.A. in Language Arts and furthered her studies by attending Tennessee State University where she received her Masters of Education. She taught in the Starkville City and Oktibbeha County School System for 41 years. When the opportunity prsented itself to continue her education, she pursued her doctoral degree in which she received a Specialist Degree Elementary Education. Her final years as an educator included teaching freshman reading at MSU.
