Rena Mae Rogers was born on September 17, 1937 in Starkville, Mississippi to the late Wesley and Hattie Dell Plair. Rena was the second oldest of six children (Linda Boyd-Hayes, Elaine Weeden, the late Willie Louis Banks, Aaron Plain, and the late John Welsey Plair).
Rena attended Henderson High School where she was very active in playing basketball, softball, running track, and dancing. Rena received her GED to enable her to take care of her family. As a caring person, Rena received her CNA certification and worked at Starkville Manor and Carrington Nursing Home as a Licensed CNA doing what she loved, caring for people. While at Starkville Manor, she, also, worked in the Dietary Department. Rena was a seamstress and a barber, as well. With all her accomplishments, her biggest accomplishment was her family. She loved spending time with them watching scary movies and cooking meals not only for the holidays but through the week.
