Miss Angela Denise Davis

Miss Angela Denise Davis was born April 26, 1976 in Eupora, Mississippi. She departed this life on November 12, 2014 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jermaine Davis; an aunt, Linda Betts and an uncle, Harnes Stewart, Jr. Angela graduated with honors from East Webster High School in 1994. She attended Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Because of her love for children and a desire to teach, she returned to Mississippi State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She taught third grade at Overstreet Elementary and Henderson Ward-Stewart Elementary in Starkville, Mississippi for several years until her health began to decline. She loved her students and always wanted them to strive toward greatness. While at Ward Stewart Elementary, Angela and her third grade class received the highest MCT2 (Mississippi Curriculum Test 2) Math scores in the entire school. In her spare time she would tutor some of the students from school or in the neighborhood when they desired help. She volunteered her time at a local church to assist with children in Bible class. If there was a positive difference to be made in a child’s life, Angela was willing to try. In addition to teaching, she liked to travel and experience new horizons. Angela was a wonderful daughter, caring sister, loving aunt, great teacher and true friend. Her presence will be greatly missed. Angela leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Hazel Davis-Harrison (Hiawatha) of Columbus, MS; her father, Lamar (Gwen) Davis of Eupora, MS; two brothers, Anthony Davis of Los Angeles, CA and Eric Davis of Ackerman, MS; two aunts, Margie Williams of Clarksville, TN and Jacqueline Lee of Reform, MS; two uncles, James Stewart of Gulfport, MS and James Coffee of Greenville, MS; two uncle-in laws, Curtis Betts of Jackson, MS and Frank Williams of Mombasa, Kenya; one sister-in law, Tytell Davis of Marrero, LA, a special nephew, Sivad Davis of Los Angeles, CA, a special little friend, C.J. Coleman of Starkville, MS; three step brothers, one step sister, and a host of relatives and friends.
