Mr. Dwight Lamar Bell

Dwight Lamar Bell was born on October 26, 1954, in Starkville, MS to Mr. Willie James and Laura Jane Bell. He departed this life on July 21, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. He was baptized at and early age at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a faithful Deacon, and member of the Brotherhood until death. Lamar graduated from Starkville High School in 1973. He attended Alcorn State University where he concentrated in Business Administration. He also earned a certification in Child Care from East Mississippi Community College in 1999. Lamar is a proud member of Rising Star Lodge #31 where is been a member for 30 plus years, and was inducted into the Rising Star Lodge #31 Hall of Fame in 2012 . Lamar also is a member of the Mississippi Bail bonding Association, and proud owner of Bell’s Bail Bonding; Lamar was the First black volunteer fireman in Starkville & Oktibbeha County; Bell's Bail Bonding Company was an active supporter of Starkville High School Sports, Starkville Baseball Association, Starkville Basketball Association, and Starkville Day in the Park. He was also a member of Greater Starkville Development Partnership. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James “Murdock” and Laura Jane Bell “Baby Sister”; One sister, Betty Louise Howard; and one son Dawan Lamar Norman. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Cassandra Bell; one daughter, Luxury Rachele Laurelle Bell (Raymond Shelton Jr. -Special friend); two sons, Brandon Jamaal Norman and Mirage` DeRonn Bell; one grand daughter, Aniya Michelle Austin Norman Bell (Adrian Austin- Mother); one special sisters Belinda Gandy (Frank) of Jackson, MS; four brothers, Sammie James Bell (Lula Mae- deceased) , of West Point, MS; Mitchell Bell of Los Angeles, CA; Larry Bell (Sarah) of Starkville, MS; and Terry Bell (Roy Ann) of Starkville MS; a loving mother in-law Rachel Campbell of Starkville, MS; two aunts Margie Lee Campbell ( Rev. willie D.) of Gary, IN; and Willie Peterson of Starkville, MS; four sister- in- laws Priscilla Auga Campbell of Aurora, CO; Edith Stallings (Elder Tyrone), of Starkville, MS; Vivicia Mique Outlaw (Mallory) of Lancaster, TX; and Marcia Toliver (Rev. John); and one brother in law Dexter Jerome Campbell of Starkville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends. Two special mothers, Mrs Frankie D. Bell and Mrs. Jessie “Honey” Robinson. Embraced as a sister Carolyn Ellis-Ward (Cedric). Loved as a brother LT Williams (Carolyn). Embraced as nieces Janet Collins (Victor); Vanessa Coffer-Hooks (Derrick). Dedicated Office Staff/ Friends: Sandra Sanford, Angela Howard, and Larry Moore.
