She is survived by four children: Cynthia L., Kelvin Turner, both of Gary, Indiana; Sanita A. Turner Moulton of Kannapolis, North Carolina; Johnnie L. Turner of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, Willie Calmes of Atkins, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren.
