Mrs. Annie Laura Townsel

Annie Laura was born December 18, 1952 in Oktibbeha County, Starkville, Mississippi to Henry Minor and Lottie Lee Bradford Minor. Annie Laura accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to Georgia, she united with the Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Gwinnet County, Georgia. She later returned to Starkville and united with Mount Peiler Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was actively involved in the following church ministries: Gospel Choir, Usher Ministry, NBC, Sunday School, Women Mission Ministry, Deaconess Ministry, Ministers’ Wives Ministry, and the Girl Scouts. Her involvement in religious institutions extended to the Mount Olivet District Association and its auxiliaries: the NEMS State Congress of Christian Education, and the NEMS State Convention Women’s Auxiliary. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories; her loving and devoted husband, Reverend Jessie Townsel, Jr., four children: Stephanie Hendrix (Jerry), Tyrone Townsel (Cynthia), and Wallace Townsel all of Starkville, MS; Brussarias Townsel (Chasity) of Verona, MS; Ten grandchildren: Chelsea Minor, Tyronda Townsel, Jeremy Minor, Shambria Townsel, Ryan Minor, Tyrone townsel, Jr., Lashonda Townsel, Jakayla Roberts, Makevean Ellis all of Starkville, MS; Blaire Townsel of Huntsville, AL; Two great grandchildren: Ethan Ware and Adyan Bush of Starkville, MS; Ten brothers: Saul Minor (Charlene), Jodie Outlaw (Elizabeth), Claude Minor (Gloria), Willie Minor, Dossie Minor, Bobby Minor (Dana), Melvin Jones, Charles Minor (Marcella), Edward Jones, Keith Lawrence (Shante) all of Starkville, MS; Walter Minor of Edwardsville, IL; Eleven Sisters: Louise Gandy (Powell), Ada Prater, Mary Brooks, Patsy Jones, Rose Smith (James), Sandra Young (Glover), Joe Ann Smith (Larry), Tasha Jones, all of Starkville, MS; Bessie Williams of St. Louis, MO; Mary Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Pamela Jones of Memphis, TN; five brothers-in-law: Robert Townsel (Annie P.), Lester Townsel (Bernice), both of Starkville, MS; Walter J. Townsel of Miami, FL; RDell Townsel of Manhattan, NY and Howard T. Townsel of Gautier, MS; five sisters-in-law: Estella Townsel Rogers, Helen Townsel, and Joyce Ann Macon (Bobby), all of Starkville, MS; Clara Townsel Jackson (Sammie) and Barbara Mixon of Savannah, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
