MRS. ANNIE LEACHER YOUNG

Annie Leacher Young was born to Bobby R. Fields and Nellie B. Fields in Oktibbeha County on July 19, 1963. Annie’s life of faith began at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, the church of her youth, where she confessed Christ as her Savior. She was a member of the Springhill choir and traveled with the choir until she graduated from Starkville High School in 1982. Annie’s youth and holidays were spent living, playing and fellowshipping among a countless array of relatives: parents, grandparent, siblings, cousins, uncles, and aunts. Family meant everything to her. Adulthood brought many changes to Annie’s life. She married Joe Young in 1989, then gave birth to her son, Braxton on March 29, 1993. She repented of her sins, was baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and was filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost in June 1993. After this transformation, she joined the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ and served there for many years. While there she traveled to many conventions. During her life of ministry, Annie served as a Sunday school teacher, an Usher President, a Missionary President, a Pastor’s Aid President, and after completing the required ministerial courses, she became an Ordained Minister for the Lord, Jesus Christ. She was also a participating member of the Oktibbeha County jail ministry. Before her demise, Annie was a member of the Garden of Love Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of Bishop Victor M. Terry. Annie’s was employed by Garan, Inc. and later with the Starkville Manor Rehabilitation Center. She chose entrepreneurship when she opened her daycare center, Revelation Daycare in 1995. The many children she cared for throughout her years in daycare are now young adults. Her varied interests were intercessory prayer, attending church, creating recipes, cooking, watching travel and food programs on television, talking on the telephone, and most of all spending time with family. God, in His infinite mercy, ended Annie’s lengthy battle with illness on November 13, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Joe Young; son, Braxton Young; mother, Nellie N. Fields; two sisters: Barbara A. Fields and Sandra Williams; two brothers: Michael Fields and Antonio Fields all of Starkville, MS; six nephews, five nieces, and a large host of family and friends.
