He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Nicks (Billy), Ms. Dorothy Brown; two sons, Mr. Willie Earl Thomas (Bettye) and Minister James Thomas (Rhonda) all of Starkville, MS; seven sisters, Mrs. Annie Pearl Deadmon of Portland, OR, Mrs. Lula Petty of Detroit, MI, Mrs. Jean Douglas (General) of Lansing, MI, Mrs. Janie Outlaw, Ms. Magnolia Thomas, Ms. Annie Clay, and Ms. Betty Clay all of Starkville, MS; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three brother-in-laws, Mr. Arthur Roberts and Mr. J.W. Blair of Starkville, MS, and Mr. General Douglas of Lansing, MI; four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Magnolia Blair and Mrs. Mattie D. Thomas of Starkville, MS; Mrs. Annie Toran of St. Louis, MO and MS. Nannie B. Roberts of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
