Dr. George Pinchuk

Dr. George Pinchuk, Professor Emeritus of Mississippi State University for Women, passed away Sunday February 14, 2021 in the arms of his loving wife and daughter. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1957, Dr. Pinchuk received an M.D. from Kyiv Medical University and a doctorate in the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR in Moscow. In 1990, he emigrated to the United States, working in Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington before arriving in Starkville, Mississippi in 1998. He taught in the Department of Biological Sciences at Mississippi State University from 1998 to 2004, then joined the Department of Sciences and Mathematics at MUW, where he was named Faculty Member of the Year in 2010. Dr. Pinchuk loved his students and is remembered as a deeply warm, caring teacher and mentor.
