She was born to Jana E Davis and Earl Bardwell of Starkville, MS on February 29, 1920. She demonstrated unconditional love for everyone that graced her home, as well as her presence.
She was involved in Blackjack M.B. Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board, Mother Board and a founder of the Children’s Choir. On Sunday mornings you always would see her and her eight children coming around the curve walking to church, she was a faithful member until her health failed.
She departed this life on July 21, 2015.
She was married to Charlie M. Jenkins who preceded her in death in 2001. They were married for over 60 years. She is survived by her eight children; LaFerne Clark (Roosevelt) Shelia Robertson, Charles Jenkins, Adron Jenkins (Phyllis), Karen Tate, Renee Gandy, Rodney Jenkins, and Myrna Tate(Alvin); twenty-seven grand -children, fifty-nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Bardwell, and two sisters, Hattie Pace and Martha Bishop, and a host of other relatives and friends.
