Jimmy Sharp Jr., was born September 21, 1953, in Starkville, Mississippi, to Jim and Mandy Sharp. He was the eleventh child out of fourteen children. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Parents Jim and Mandy, Brothers and Sisters; John, Joe, Bobby, Willie Pearl, Billie Wayne and Dale Sharp, Pearlie Hankerson and Pauline Randle. Jimmy accepted Christ at an early age at Bell Chapel Church in Starkville, Mississippi. He graduated from Starkville High School in 1973 where he was a standout basketball player. During the Class AA tournament, Jimmy led the semifinal game with 21 points and was a part of the all-tournament team which led him to a Basketball Scholarship at East Mississippi Junior Community College in Scooba, Mississippi. He then furthered his studies and Basketball talent by attending Mississippi Industrial College (MI), a historically black college, in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Jimmy moved to Maywood, Illinois in May of 1977 with his mother Mandy and younger siblings Dale and Mechelle. He was employed for many years as a Pharmacy Technician with Touhy Pharmacy where he retired. During his retirement, he shared many good times and memories with his Companion, Stacey Smith, who was by his side to the very end. Jimmy loved watching sports and he loved his family. You could often find him watching Basketball, Football and Wrestling. Some of his most proudest moments was being a Father and Grandfather. Jimmy will be missed dearly, but on Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2026, when Jimmy took his rest for eternity, the first smiling face he saw was his little big brother Dale with a long awaited embrace.
