Reverend Michael Love

Pastor Michael Love was born April 28, 1966 in Oktibbeha County, Starkville, MS. He was a 1984 graduate of Starkville High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the National Guard where he was active for eight years. Mike always felt Mississippi and Arkansas were his mission fields. He loved God, church, singing for the Lord, and he loved children. He lived with dignity, strength, and humility. He was mentored, and he was a mentor. He was discipled and was a disciple. He was a humble and kind man that inspired many “to press on towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” ~Philippians 3:14 At a very young age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Mt. Peiler M.B. Church. He later moved his membership to Second Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until he moved to Pine Bluff, AR in 1985. Once he moved to Pine Bluff, he found his new church, Israel Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Frank McBride. During his tenure at Israel Light, he accepted his calling and was ordained as a Minister. In addition to finding a new church, he also became an honorary member of the Harris family, who accepted him as their son. He was united in holy matrimony to Mary (Sarah) Williams in 1986. To this union, two sons were born: Michael Dewayne and Cleveland James Love. He attended various churches in the Pine Bluff area, but made Solomon Hill Baptist his home church. He became pastor of Richardson Chapel and Old Macedonia Baptist Church. He continued his faithful services to both churches until the day God called him home. He was preceded in death by his grandmother/grandfather, Tom and Matilda Bradford; mother Sallie E. Love; four brothers, Ollie James and Richard Love, David Catledge, and Frank Brown, and one sister, Jessie Mae ‘Bae Bae’ Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife, Mary, three sons, Michael and Cleveland Love, both of Pine Bluff, AR, and Marcus Davis, of Starkville, MS, a god-son, John Ray, a special son, Jimmy Bell, and two grandchildren, his father Oscar Brown, of Starkville, MS; eight brothers: John O. (Chantel) Bradford of Flint, MI; Charles and Curtis Love of West Point, MS; Victor (Karen) Love of Lafayette, LA; Tommy Brown of Columbus, MS; Dedrick Brown of Gulfport, MS, Jessie Brown of Starkville, MS, and a very special brother Julius Gandy (Emma) of Starkville, MS; eight sisters: Laura Walker of Starkville, MS; Eddie Mae Love of West Point, MS; Emma, Cathy, and Myra Brown, all of Starkville, MS; Rosie and Susie Brown of Orlando, FL, and Alice Brown of Pensacola, FL; his loving godmother, Mrs. Precious Harris; god-brothers: Carl Harris, Clyde and Bobby Harris (deceased); his god-sisters: Ms. Johnnie Harris and Gail Harris, all of Little Rock, AR.
