He is survived by his son, Darren Lamont Smith; one granddaughter, Diara LaShantee Smith; his brother, Dana Evans; his sister, Althea Evans- Young; great aunt, Ruby Turner; aunt, Lodina Peterson; uncles, Jessie Lee Evans and James (Thelma) Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, and friends.
