He is survived by two sons, Clifford Chandler of New Orleans, LA and Darrell "Dewey" Chandler (Devan); his beloved granddaughters: Alison, Hayden, Wyntir, and Xyla; a special friend and mother to his two sons, Valarie Chandler. He also leaves behind his siblings: Matilda of Racine, WI; Belle Burney of Akron, OH; James (Cheryl); Jimmy (Marilyn), and Larry of New Orleans, LA; Kathy and Willie Mae of Starkville, MS; and Lillie of Conway, AR, along with a brother, James of Jonesboro, AR. He was blessed to have the support of Annette Johnson, as a second-grade teacher, and remained a close friend and lifelong encourager. He was also deeply connected to friends who felt like family, including Wanda McGee, Billy Coats, Ivory "Bunky" Boyd, Ronald Prater, James "Cubby" Harris, James Chandler, and two special friends, Edward Kennedy of New Orleans and Doug Bardwell of Starkville, MS.
