Joseph Lee Matthews was born June 27, 1965, to Joe Matthews and the late Trudie McIlwain Matthews. He departed this earthly life October 31, 2024, to be with Jesus.
A vibrant and energetic boy, he was debilitated by a childhood illness that caused lifelong disabilities but never snuffed his joyful spirit. Lee was the epitome of patience, and he demonstrated faith, hope, and love.
When Lee made a friend, he was a friend for life. When he laughed and sang, it was always with genuineness. When he hurt or felt ill, he endured with resilience and true toughness.
If Lee had been healthy, there is no doubt he would have joined the cowboys and bull riders, because he held their work in the highest esteem.
