Frances “Frankie” McIlwain Winston entered her eternal home with the Lord on August 15, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old.
Born on July 28, 1946, Frankie was the daughter of D.W. and Allie McIlwain and the middle of seven siblings. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 52 years, Bobby Winston, and a loving mother to Wayne (Lori Ann) Carpenter of Sturgis, MS; Monti (Jason) King of Starkville, MS; and Robbi (Jerome) Lepard of Starkville, MS. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren—Chloe (Casey) Morgan, Owen King, Isaac Lepard, Micah King, Allie Lepard, and Quinn Lepard—and her great-grandson, Lincoln Morgan.
Frankie was a lifelong resident of Starkville, known for her skill and warmth as a hairdresser for more than 36 years. She had a servant’s heart, dedicating many years to teaching Sunday School and leading Vacation Bible School at Osborn Presbyterian Church.
