She is survived by her husband, James W. Ewing of Mantee, MS; three children: Khara Brownlee of Mantee, MS; Jay Ewing of West Point, MS; Xavier Ewing of Killeen, TX; nine grandchildren; four sisters: Beverly McKinney and Janet Morris both of Maben, MS; Rosie Chandler and Vivian Chandler both of Pheba, MS; two brothers: George Washington Gates, Jr. of Maben, MS; and George Washington Gates, Jr. of Houston, MS.
