Mrs. Betty Lou (Bankhead) Wicks, was born April 21, 1939 to the late Viola (Hood) and Sylvester Ben Bankhead.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wright Wicks; a brother, Jimmie Bankhead; three sisters: Pearl Bankhead-Warren, Martha Bankhead-Chandler and Mary Bankhead; a grandson, Willie Young Jr., a great grandson, Tre’veon Bluitt, and daughter- in- law, Beatrice Brown Wicks.
Betty confessed in Christ at an early age. She was a current member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at Mississippi State University.
She loved to sew, solve and work in puzzle books. Her favorite songs were “When the Gates Swing Open” and “The Leaning Tree.”
