Mrs. Bessie Mae "Momma Bessie" Tate

Bessie Mae Tate was born October 26, 1939 to the late Willie Mae Outlaw and Willie Lee Ward. She entered into eternal peace on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in New Orleans, LA. Ms. Tate gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a former member of Saint Mark Church of God In Christ, where she was dedicated and served for many years. She returned to her family home church, Mt. Airy of Sturgis, MS where she was a productive member until her untimely death. In her community, she was known as Momma Bessie; a dedicated, hard working, and loving member of the community. She was a retired cosmetologist and drove the Starkville Public School bus for more than 20 years. She leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Linda Williams of Starkville, MS; a step-son, Lester Tate of Memphis, TN; two step-daughters, Dorothy and Ann McDowell of Starkville, MS; two grandchildren: Willis Miller of Starkville, MS and Teewanda Smith of New Orleans, LA; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; one brother,...
