After relocating to St. Louis, MO she joined Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a member of the Mass and Senior choir, Supervisor of the Youth Choir, President of the Building Fund, and devoted Mother of E.M.B. Mother’s Board.
Ophelia was a pillar of her community known for her witty charm and infectious personality. Her mission was to serve her community and spread love. She enjoyed baking sweet potato pies and hosting large family dinners welcoming all to her dinner table. She believed in the power of voting and dedicated more than 30 years working at St. Louis City Board of Elections. She was an avid traveler, visiting over 48 states. Also, she worked as a consultant for Stanley Home Products, receiving many awards and accolades as a top seller.
